Violets
by Curits Davis

Violins strung at the right tune sound like violence
violence can sound like [silence] and leave bodies bruised violet
violets bloom in the eyes of Flower Boy
this time more Creator and less Scum Fuck
but still scum in the end
so tell em good speed and God Luck
cause I been tryin’ to find myself in this universe for 25 yrs
spaced out and star struck
starry eyes on a Starry Night
Van Gogh with pen
Galileo on the mic
this morning the sun kissed me ultra violet
and I woke to find my dark side on the moon
how quickly all my words become nocturnal
when mouth becomes moth without u
you vital vessel of ultra light beams
play my violet veins like violin strings
and listen to the way this heart sings
but disappear and don’t be surprised
at how deep this heart sinks
at how violent the silence feels
so let’s forever keep the fields
of laughter sprouting in our throats
forever pour your body into mine
and mine into yours
mixing your red with my blue
we are just two
primary colors
violently in love with
violets.
